Weddington
Weddington consists of large residential lots and wooded areas in the western region of Union County, North Carolina. Other local attractions include several nearby museums and Andrew Jackson State Park. This 360 acre lake inhabited park offers visitors a range of recreational opportunities, such as hiking, walking, fishing, picnicking and camping. It is also a stated goal of the town’s officials to limit commercial development, so that Weddington's 10,000 residents can continue to enjoy and appreciate their local natural landscape. There is one commercial area in town, which features a shopping center and a medical office building. The primary employing industries are manufacturing, educational, health and social services, finance and insurance and retail trade. Union County Public Schools serve Weddington students in grades K-12.

Secluded but accessible, Weddington is only about 15 miles away from downtown Charlotte. Interstate 485 is located just three miles north, and a variety of state highways serve the area. Neighboring communities that share the picturesque farmland and forests that surround Weddington include Wesley Chapel, Waxhaw, Matthews and Marvin.
