Cameron Wood

Cameron Wood is an established South Charlotte neighborhood off of Park Rd. The Cameron Wood neighborhood is located on 386 acres of land that once was a hunting preserve owned by the Belk family. Eventually, in an exchange of properties, the Harris family became the owners of the property and the Belk family took over the land that would one day become the site of SouthPark Mall. Cameron Wood is named for Mr. Cameron Harris. Homes in this community were primarily built in the late 1980's and 1990's. The Cameron Wood community was initially composed of five different villages: Park Springs, Stone Croft, Wingfield, Glen Laurel, and Deer Brooke. Cameron Wood would grow to become the largest planned community in Charlotte/Mecklenburg until the Highland Creek community was built in the northeastern part of the county. Homes in this neighborhood tend to range widely in square footage from 1400 – 5500SF.

Cameron Wood is conveniently located in South Charlotte. The neighborhood is served Park Road and is a short drive from SouthPark and Pineville. The neighborhood is bordered by Albemarle Road Park, South Mecklenburg High School, Cameron Wood Swim and Raquet Club. The comunity has a playground, swim and raquet club, baseball field and a fishing pond.

Numerous retailers and restaurants are located in SouthPark and nearby along Park Road, Johnston Road and Hwy 51. Carolina Place Mall is just over a mile away as well.
