Belmont - Piedmont Courts
This community is similar in age to that of Optimist Park and NoDa. It sits directly East of the Uptown area and is bordered to the North by North Davidson and Parkwood, in the South by Central Ave and in the East by Hawthorn. In an effort by federal and local agencies, much of this neighborhood is being redeveloped as mixed income housing. The federal government recently gave a grant of $20 million dollars to raze the public housing complex known as Piedmont Courts. Public and private investment is flowing into the area as many are expecting this area to dramatically change over the next few years.

This neighborhood sits directly East of the Charlotte Uptown area.

Plans for future light rail includes a possible stop at 16th Street.
